Widex Allure hearing aid

Widex Allure.

Danish sound engineering, refined. The hearing aid that audiophiles and musicians reach for: crystal-clear speech without sacrificing the room around you.

Great at
  • ZeroDelay processing at 0.5 ms delivers artifact-free sound that audiophiles and musicians consistently prefer. Nothing sounds processed.

  • Speech Enhancer Pro uses 52-band spectral analysis to lift speech without flattening the environment. 92% of users prefer it in noisy situations.

  • The Adaptive Dynamic Feedback Controller eliminates whistling in real time without the sound-quality compromises found in most competing systems.

Tradeoffs
  • Allure is Auracast-ready but requires a firmware update to activate. Public venue streaming isn't available out of the box.

  • Currently available as a rechargeable RIC only. Custom in-the-ear styles and additional form factors are expected but not yet released.

The short version

Widex Allure is the choice we reach for when a patient tells us sound feels processed, tinny, or unnatural in their current aids. Built on the new W1 chip with ZeroDelay processing at 0.5 milliseconds, it delivers speech clarity that ranks among the best in the category, without the over-processed quality that puts off audiophiles, musicians, and anyone who simply wants hearing that sounds like hearing.

What's new about it

Allure runs on Widex's new W1 chip, four times faster and four times more memory than the previous Moment platform. That processing power enables Speech Enhancer Pro: a 52-band spectral analysis system that identifies and separates speech from noise at a granular level before feeding into 15 channels of SII-optimised output. The result is speech clarity that Widex reports is preferred by 92% of users in noisy situations, with 96% reporting less noise annoyance, while preserving enough of the surrounding environment that listening never feels tunnel-focused.

PureSound with ZeroDelay carries over and is now enhanced, processing sound in 0.5 ms for an experience that patients consistently describe as natural rather than amplified. The Adaptive Dynamic Feedback Controller is completely re-engineered, using frequency-shifting to eliminate whistling without the sound-quality compromise other systems require. Battery life is 25 hours with 7 hours of streaming. The Compass Cloud fitting platform, the first cloud-based audiology fitting solution in the industry, gives us more precise first fits, meaning you're more likely to leave your first appointment already hearing well.

Who it's right for
  • The audiophileYou care how things sound, not just whether you can hear them. Widex's ZeroDelay processing is the gentlest in the category.
  • The new wearerPureSound is specifically tuned for first-time users and mild hearing loss, offering the easiest transition to amplification we know of.
  • The natural sound seekerYou want to hear the room, not just the speaker. Allure preserves spatial awareness while bringing speech forward.
Who it isn't right for
  • The Auracast early adopterAllure needs a firmware update before Auracast activates. If public venue streaming is a priority now, ReSound Vivia is fully live out of the box.
  • The custom fit patientAllure is currently RIC only. Patients who want an in-the-ear or invisible style will need to look at Starkey.
  • The budget-consciousAllure 440 is the flagship tier. The 330 and 220 levels offer most of the same sound character at a lower price.

How fitting works for this device

Whichever brand you ultimately pick, the fit is what determines whether you actually hear better, not the brochure. Every Widex fitting at our office includes:

  • Comprehensive pre-fitting evaluation (~60 min)

A full diagnostic before any device is selected: audiogram, speech testing, medical and lifestyle history. We don't fit a device until we understand your hearing in full.

  • Real Ear Measurement

A small probe microphone verifies that sound actually reaching your eardrum matches your prescription target, not just the manufacturer's factory default curve. Most offices skip this step. We consider it non-negotiable.

  • Real-world demo period

You wear the device in your actual life: your kitchen, your commute, your favourite restaurant. Lab performance and real-world performance can diverge; the demo period is where you find out.

  • Follow-up fine-tuning sessions (included)

Follow-up appointments are included in the first 90 days. We stay with you until the fit is right.

Dr. Robin Zeller has provided hearing and speech care since 1977. Dr. Andrew Engelhardt, a cochlear implant user since 2019 and a former patient of Dr. Zeller, brings the perspective of someone who has lived the patient journey alongside his clinical training. Together, they offer care that is both clinically exceptional and personally understood.
